There is so much craft in this text for students to look at and try out in their own writing. I mean there are like 30 words in the whole book. The words are lovely, complicated, and fun to say. I love how the book uses rhyming. The illustrations are gorgeous and muted. Honestly this book has so much potential, but the illustrations are sorely lacking -- bland and confusing.The words he uses to describe the rain are wonderful, lyrical.
